Kira is a bearded vulture born in the Spanish Pyrenees and released into the wild in Switzerland at a young age; she is equipped with GPS by wildlife biologists so we can accompany her. Grey seals are less shy than the more famous harbour seals; camera close-ups don't scare them, so they allow us to follow them as they rest on the beach and hunt the waters for food. In the Bialowieza National Park in Poland is the last primeval forest of Europe; here lives the only European bison species. In untouched nature, we get to know their herd life. Europe is home to almost a million moose; west of the picturesque Miosa Lake, Norway's largest lake, begins the moose territory, where we get to know the animal and its peculiarities. Doru is almost a celebrity; this lynx was released from Romania to Croatia. The four-year-old animal is the first of many to be brought to the Dinaric Mountains as part of the Life Lynx project. The wolverine is the largest member of the weasel family; he lives hidden in Finland's woods, tears up moose, and is even said to take on adult brown bears and moose.
