Ute Emmerich
German by nationality, Ute Lemper was born on July 4, 1963 in the small university town of Munsten, in the family of a banker and an opera singer. She recalls her childhood years without much pleasure: “My parents always told me - be normal, don’t stand out, don’t make noise.” The atmosphere of bourgeois mediocrity and authoritarianism that reigned in the family helped Uta cope with music lessons - from the age of nine she studied piano, vocals and dancing.
