Benjamin Dorman
Born in Odessa on February 12, 1927, in the family of composer David Dorman. In 1943 he studied at the architectural department of the Engineering and Construction Institute. From 1943 he worked in the State Circus, participated in the work of front-line brigades, the drama group of the Central Builders Club of Moscow. In 1951 he graduated from the directing faculty of VGIK (workshop G. Kozintsev). In 1951-1958 years - shot a number of essays at the Lower Volga studio newsreel. Director (second director) of the film "Silent Don" (directed by S. Gerasimov). Since 1957 - directed to / st them. M. Gorky. Co-writer of the film "Vanka" (c / m, together with E. Bocharov and G. Ohanisyan). Repeatedly shot plots for the children's comic magazine Yeralash and the magazine "Wick". He died on January 22, 1988. He was buried in Moscow at Golovinsky Cemetery (16th station).
