Honored Artist of the RSFSR (07/17/1989). People's Artist of the Russian Federation (17.06.1999). Brother of Honored Artist of Russia Igor Livanov (born 1953). He graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography (1969). In 1969-1971 he worked in the Volgograd Youth Theater and the Volgograd Drama Theater. In 1972-1973 he served in the Ryazan Youth Theater. In 1973-1977 he worked in theaters of Rostov-on-Don - TYuZe and drama theater, as well as on the stage of the Taganrog Drama Theater. Since 1977 - actor theater Mossovet. Since 1986 - actor of the Central Theater of the Soviet Army. Since 1987 - actor of the Moscow Art Theater named after M. Gorky (led by Tatyana Doronina). Since 1993 - member of the Art Council of the Continent film company (Mosfilm Concern). In 2003, he headed the anti-terror human rights organization, Russia - Anti-Terror.
