Theodore Yuryevich Wulfovich (1923-2004) - Soviet film director, actor and screenwriter. Born July 10, 1923 in New Bukhara (now Kagan, Bukhara region, Uzbekistan) in a Jewish family. He spent his childhood in Samarkand. He lived with his parents in Samara, began to study at school in Moscow. In 1953 he graduated from the directing department of VGIK (workshop of L.V. Kuleshov and A.S. Khokhlova). In 1936, starred in the film "Father and Son" directed by M. A. Barsky. Member of the Great Patriotic War. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1944. He died on March 24, 2004. He was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery.
