Film Tow (2026)

Story

Amanda Ogle has made an aging Toyota Camry her home while trying to get by on the streets of Seattle. Her fragile sense of stability is shattered when the car is stolen and later impounded, leaving her with an urgent fight to recover the one possession that gives her shelter and independence. Faced with an indifferent system and a legal process that seems designed to wear her down, Amanda must find the strength to make herself heard.

What begins as a dispute over a vehicle gradually reaches deeper questions of dignity, fairness, and the right to be treated as a person. The story follows Amanda’s persistence as she confronts institutional failure, mounting pressure, and the barriers that can silence people with the fewest resources. Its emotional focus remains close to one woman’s determination to reclaim control of her life.

Overview

Tow is a drama set against the streets of Seattle, where a personal crisis exposes the human cost of an indifferent legal system. The film combines a grounded urban setting with a focused story of resilience, giving its central conflict both intimate stakes and wider social weight. The struggle over Amanda’s car becomes a way to explore power, vulnerability, and the importance of one person’s voice when official channels refuse to listen.

Directed by Stephanie Laing, the film centers its tension on persistence rather than spectacle. Its atmosphere is shaped by uncertainty and the pressure of having to defend one’s basic dignity. The result is a character-driven drama about survival, accountability, and the courage required to keep pursuing justice when the process itself feels stacked against you.
