Story
A year after her sister Melanie vanishes without explanation, Clover travels with her friends to the remote valley where the disappearance took place. Their search leads them to an abandoned visitor center, a place filled with unanswered questions and a growing sense of danger. Before long, a masked killer begins hunting the group, turning their investigation into a desperate fight for survival.
Each violent encounter brings an impossible second chance: after being killed, the friends awaken at the beginning of the same evening. Trapped in a repeating cycle, they must make sense of the events around them, identify the threat, and uncover what connects the valley to Melanie’s disappearance. Every attempt to escape carries new risks, while the limited time before dawn keeps the pressure steadily mounting.
Overview
Directed by David F. Sandberg, Until Dawn (2025) blends detective elements with horror and survival suspense. Its remote setting, abandoned location, and recurring timeline create a tense atmosphere in which every detail may hold a clue. The story keeps its focus on investigation, fear, and the fragile trust within a group forced to confront the same nightmare again and again.
A Hungarian-American production, the film builds its mystery around a simple but unsettling question: how can Clover and her friends break a cycle that appears to reset after every deadly confrontation? The result is a tightly contained horror mystery shaped by pursuit, uncertainty, and the search for answers about Melanie.
Cast and Characters
Ella Rubin leads the film as Clover, whose search for her missing sister sets the story in motion. Michael Cimino, Odessa A'zion, and Ji-young Yoo play members of her group of friends, while Peter Stormare rounds out the principal cast.
