Love Hurts

Movie Love Hurts (2025)

Description:

Story

A realtor has built a new life far from the criminal world he once knew. That fragile distance disappears when his former partner-in-crime returns with an ominous message, forcing him to face the history he tried to leave buried. With his crime-lord brother also on his trail, he is drawn into a dangerous confrontation where old loyalties, unfinished business, and the demands of his present life collide.

Blending action with comedy, Love Hurts follows a man caught between reinvention and the consequences of his past. The story moves through threats and pursuit while keeping its focus on a character whose carefully arranged existence begins to unravel. Its central tension comes from two worlds closing in around him: the ordinary life he has chosen and the criminal history that refuses to stay behind.

Overview

Love Hurts is a 2025 action comedy produced in Japan and the United States. The film builds its premise around a former criminal trying to maintain a civilian identity while old associates and family ties pull him back toward danger. The contrast between his work as a realtor and the violent history surrounding him gives the story room for both suspense and comic friction.

The film pairs fast-moving peril with the awkwardness of a past that will not stay buried. Its premise centers on the choices awaiting the protagonist as he deals with a threatening message, a resurfaced accomplice, and a powerful brother who remains on his trail.

Cast and Characters

The cast features Daniel Wu, Cam Gigandet, Analeigh Tipton, Rhys Darby, and Sean Astin. The characters form a tense network shaped by former criminal partnerships and family pressure, all of it threatening the protagonist's attempt to protect the life he has created as a realtor.
