Movie Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024)

Story

A new chapter in the Ghostbusters saga begins with a secret research laboratory and a bold attempt to understand the supernatural forces the team has encountered. Their work takes a dangerous turn when an ancient artifact releases a powerful evil from the depths of history. As temperatures plunge and the threat of a second Ice Age spreads, the new generation of Ghostbusters joins the original team in a race to protect their home and prevent the world from freezing.

With chaos closing in and darkness gathering across the globe, two generations must work side by side despite the pressure of an enemy whose power seems impossible to contain. The looming crisis gives the adventure a larger scale while keeping the series' mix of comedy, fantasy and supernatural action at its center.

Overview

Directed by Gil Kenan, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire combines comedy, adventure and fantasy in a story about inherited responsibility, scientific curiosity and the uneasy relationship between the living and the supernatural. The film connects the legacy of the original team with a younger group facing a threat that reaches far beyond a single haunting.

The laboratory setting adds a sense of discovery, while the ancient artifact brings a mystery rooted in forgotten history. Against that background, the Ghostbusters face a crisis that affects ordinary life on a global scale. The changing alliances between experienced investigators and their successors give the story its human focus, while the approaching freeze creates constant urgency.
