Description:

Story

Riley is entering her teenage years, and the headquarters of her mind faces an unexpected upheaval. Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust have guided her through life with a familiar rhythm, responding to each new experience as a team. Their routine is disrupted when Anxiety arrives, bringing unfamiliar energy and raising questions about how Riley’s emotions will work together from this point forward. The new arrival may also have company, promising further changes inside Riley’s inner world.

Set largely within the lively control center of Riley’s mind, the story explores the shifting feelings that accompany growing up. Humor comes from the clash between established emotions and new impulses, while the central conflict keeps the focus on Riley’s changing sense of herself. The narrative preserves the imaginative setting of the original film and places its characters in a fresh emotional situation.

Overview

Inside Out 2 combines comedy, adventure, and family storytelling in an animated journey through the inner life of a teenager. Its imaginative premise turns emotional development into a vivid group dynamic, giving each feeling a distinct role in Riley’s daily experiences. The arrival of Anxiety creates a new source of tension within the headquarters and opens the door to questions about balance, self-understanding, and the pressures that come with adolescence.

Directed by Kelsey Mann, the film comes from the United States and builds its appeal around accessible humor, expressive characters, and a playful approach to complex feelings. Familiar emotions remain at the heart of the story, while the changing headquarters provides room for new conflicts and unexpected interactions. The result is a family adventure with an emotional core and a setting designed to make Riley’s inner experiences visible.
