Animation The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants (2025)

Story

SpongeBob longs to prove that he has the courage of a true big guy, and he chooses a daring challenge to win Mr. Krabs's respect. His test leads him across the open sea in pursuit of the Flying Dutchman, a mysterious ghost pirate with a taste for swashbuckling adventure. Their voyage carries SpongeBob far below the familiar waters of Bikini Bottom, toward the deepest parts of the ocean and places no sponge has explored before. Comedy, danger, and nautical fantasy shape the journey while SpongeBob faces a test of bravery on an unexpectedly grand scale.

The adventure keeps its focus on SpongeBob's determination and the bond of trust behind his quest. The ocean setting expands the playful world of the character into a broader seafaring story, filled with ghostly mystery and comic peril.
