Movie 50 km/h (2024)

Story

After years of silence, two brothers come together for their father’s funeral, carrying old resentment alongside memories of the affection they once shared. Their reunion takes an unexpected turn when they set out on a journey aboard the motorbikes they built during childhood. The road gives them time and distance to confront the history between them and to see what remains of the bond beneath their bitterness. Blending family tension with warm, understated humor, 50 km/h follows two estranged men as they begin to rediscover one another.

Overview

This 2024 Italian comedy centers on a difficult family reunion and the journey that follows it. The motorbikes the brothers built as children give the film a distinctive setting, while shared memories, unresolved feelings, and the awkwardness of reconnecting after many years apart shape their path. Its tone balances emotional friction with gentle comic situations, allowing the relationship at the heart of the story to unfold with tenderness and candor.

With its focus on family and the ties formed in childhood, the film offers a character-driven road comedy. The trip matters less as a passage across distance than as a way for the brothers to face old grievances and the possibility of renewed affection.
