Director, screenwriter. People's Artist of the Russian Federation (July 19, 2004). In 1956-1957 he studied at the Leningrad Hydrometeorological Institute, worked as a laborer at the Leningrad Film Studio of popular science films. He graduated from the directing department of the Leningrad State Institute of Culture (1969), the Higher Courses of Directors and Scriptwriters (1972, workshop of Alexander Mitta). From 1964 he worked at the Lenfilm film studio, was an assistant director and the second director on the set of a number of films (“Work Village”, “In the City C”, “Bad Good Man”). In 2011, the book of memoirs by Yevgeny Tatarsky came out of print - "Notes of the director about many and a little about yourself."
