In 1954 he graduated from the Moscow Law Institute, worked as an investigator, later - Assistant Minister of the Interior of the USSR. Together with A. Nagorny, Helium Ryabov appeared as the author of the story "We are from counterintelligence." In the cinema as a screenwriter, he participated in the creation of well-known film and television films - biographical pictures "Executed at Dawn" (1964) and "The Mysterious Monk" (1967), the military tape "One of Us" (1970), detectives "Theft" ( 1971) and Favorit (1976). The television series "Born by the Revolution" (1977) - about the Soviet militia and the "State Border" (1980) - about the border troops won great popularity among the audience. In 1993, according to his own script, Helium Ryabov staged the historical drama "White Horse". In the late 1980s and early 1990s, he was one of those who began again to investigate the circumstances of the shooting of the family of the last emperor from the Romanovs' house in 1918 and to search for the place of her burial.
