Honored Artist of the RSFSR (05/13/1991). In 1958 he graduated from the acting department of VGIK (workshop of Sergey Gerasimov and Tamara Makarova; fellow student of Yuri Dedovich - Lyudmila Gurchenko, Zinaida Kiriyenko, Natalia Fateeva). Then he lived and worked in Belarus for three years. In 1961 he moved to Leningrad. He entered the state of the film studio "Lenfilm". Stayed there until its dissolution. Since 2002, he has been teaching acting at St. Petersburg State University of Cinema and Television. He made his debut in 1955 in the film Gerasimov "Hope" (episode). In the third year, he was approved for one of the main roles (Ostap) in the Mark Donskoy film “Dear Price” (1957) based on the story by Mikhail Kotsyubinsky. This picture was well received in the West, in 1959 recognized as the best foreign film in the UK.
