Movie Distant (2024)

Story

After crash-landing on an alien planet, an asteroid miner has to find his footing in an environment that offers nothing familiar. The terrain is harsh, and his goal is to reach the only other survivor: a woman trapped in her escape pod. Getting to her means crossing the unforgiving landscape, with distance and isolation pressing on every step.

Blending science fiction with comedy, Distant places its characters in an extraordinary survival situation and keeps the focus on the effort to reach someone in need. The premise leaves room for physical danger, unfamiliar surroundings, and the humor that can surface even in a crisis.

Overview

This science-fiction comedy comes from India and the United States. It uses an alien setting for a character-driven survival adventure, following a miner who must cross difficult terrain to reach a fellow survivor. The contrast between a high-stakes emergency and a lighter comedic tone gives the film an accessible, adventurous feel.

Isolation, discovery, and the challenge of reaching someone who cannot escape on her own sit at the center of the story, set against the mystery of an unfamiliar world.
