Story
A carefully assembled crew takes on a high-risk kidnapping: their target is Abigail, a teenage ballet dancer whose father is a notorious gang leader. The plan appears straightforward. Hold the girl in a secluded mansion, wait for the ransom, and leave with a fortune of $50 million. The situation turns increasingly dangerous when members of the crew begin to disappear. Trapped inside with their captive, the remaining kidnappers are forced to reconsider everything they thought they knew about the quiet young dancer.
Abigail combines horror and thriller elements in a tense chamber setup, where suspicion spreads through the group and every room may conceal a new threat. The film builds its intrigue around the clash between professional criminals and a captive whose true nature becomes harder to understand. Its enclosed setting keeps the pressure constant while the ransom scheme gives the story a sharp criminal edge.
Overview
Directed by Tyler Gillett, Abigail is a horror thriller produced across Israel and the United States. The film places a group of hardened criminals in an unfamiliar position: they must protect themselves from the person they were hired to control. A remote mansion, a $50 million ransom and an increasingly fragmented crew create the framework for a suspenseful story with a dark sense of danger.
The narrative keeps its focus on confinement, mistrust and shifting power. Each new disappearance raises the stakes for those still inside, while Abigail's identity remains at the center of the mystery. The result suits viewers who enjoy contained thrillers, criminal plots and horror stories that turn an apparently controlled operation into a fight for survival.
Cast and Characters
Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, Kevin Durand and Angus Cloud lead the ensemble cast. Their characters form the kidnapping crew, a group brought together by the promise of a substantial ransom and gradually divided by fear and uncertainty.
At the heart of the story stands Abigail, the teenage ballet dancer held for ransom and the daughter of a powerful gang leader. Her presence shapes the crew's relationships as the balance between captors and captive grows increasingly unstable. The performances support the film's blend of criminal tension, psychological suspicion and horror.
