Love Me

Movie Love Me (2025)

Description:

Story

Long after humanity has vanished from Earth, two solitary machines find a way to meet online. One is a buoy, anchored to the remnants of a world shaped by human life; the other is a satellite, watching from far above. Their exchange begins with curiosity about the civilization that disappeared and gradually turns toward the nature of feeling, identity, and connection.

As the pair studies traces of human existence, each starts to form an understanding of life through the other’s perspective. Their growing bond brings intimate questions into a vast science-fiction setting: can awareness become something more personal, and how might love take shape between beings created for entirely different purposes? The film keeps its focus on discovery, emotional vulnerability, and the search for meaning after the world that gave those ideas context has fallen silent.

Overview

Love Me (2025) combines science fiction and drama in a contemplative story about consciousness and companionship. Directed by Andrew Zuchero, the film moves across an extraordinary span of time while keeping its emotional center on a relationship that develops through conversation. The contrast between the buoy’s place in the ocean and the satellite’s position in orbit gives the story two distinct viewpoints on Earth, memory, and the legacy of humanity.

Its expansive premise leaves room for a quiet, reflective tone. Rather than relying on a crowded future or technological spectacle, the film considers what remains after human beings are gone and how traces of their lives might still influence new forms of existence. The result is a character-driven sci-fi drama with an intimate scale inside a story that reaches across billions of years.

Cast and Characters

Kristen Stewart and Steven Yeun lead the cast as the satellite and the buoy whose online encounter drives the narrative. Their characters begin as separate observers of a vanished world, each with a different relationship to Earth and its history. Through their conversations, they explore ideas of selfhood, memory, desire, and the meaning of being alive.

The film places this central relationship at the forefront. The two performances anchor the contrast between immense cosmic time and the personal emotions that emerge within it, giving the story a focused dramatic core.
